Tax fast-track filing
A short interview, a real estimate, and a cover letter for your accountant — anchored to last year's confirmed return.
Tax fast-track filing#
Instead of starting this year's filing from a blank page, fast-track starts from last year's confirmed return and only asks about what's different. A few quick questions — in chat or on the Fast-Track tab under Tax & Reports — and the agent drafts a full estimate plus a cover letter you can hand straight to your accountant.
Starting one#
Ask the agent directly:
- "Start my tax fast-track filing."
- "Is my filing draft ready?" checks status on an in-progress one.
Or open the Fast-Track tab and click Start. Either way it's the same session — pick it up wherever's convenient.
What it asks#
The questions adapt to your jurisdiction and to what your prior return already tells it — it skips anything it can already answer. A few examples:
- US — filing status changes, new W-2/1099 income, itemizing vs. the standard deduction, retirement contributions.
- Canada — province of residence, T4/T4A/T5 slips, RRSP/FHSA/TFSA contributions, the GST/HST registration threshold.
- Australia — sole trader vs. company/partnership/trust, the GST registration threshold, superannuation contributions, private health insurance and the Medicare Levy Surcharge.
See the full country-by-country breakdown in Supported countries.
What you get#
- A filing draft — an estimated total income, taxable income, and tax payable, computed by the same real tax-bracket tables used everywhere else in AgentBook — never guessed by the AI.
- A client letter — a plain-English cover letter summarizing what changed, the estimated figures, and open questions for your accountant to double-check. Download it as a PDF alongside the draft.
- Deadline nudges — a countdown to your actual filing deadline shows on the tab, and the agent proactively reminds you as it gets close.
An estimate, not a filing. Fast-track prepares a draft and a letter to speed up your actual filing — it doesn't file anything for you. Confirm the numbers with your accountant (or your own filing software) before you rely on them.
Availability#
Tax fast-track is a paid add-on ($49/year in the US, $65/year in Canada, $59/year in Australia) — enable it under Settings → Billing.
